Checks

This page lists every WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) success criterion at Level A and AA. A success criterion is one testable requirement, such as 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum). For each one you see what the scanner tests automatically, the steps a person does by hand, and traps: mistakes that lead a tester or a tool to the wrong result. Below the criteria is the repair catalog: each defect the scanner reports, its fix, and its guard (what breaks when the fix is applied carelessly).

Automation

criteria: a tool finds some failures, a person confirms the rest

criteria: no automated check, a person tests them

Level A is the lowest conformance level. Level AA includes every Level A criterion and adds others, such as color contrast. The 2024 rule of the DOJ (US Department of Justice) for state and local governments requires WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Repair catalog

We found and fixed each entry on a live production site. The guard records what went wrong, or would have gone wrong, when someone applied the obvious fix. The risk level says who may apply the fix. Safe: no visual or behavioral change. Review: check a diff (a before-and-after comparison of the code) first. Owner decides: a trade-off the site owner makes.
