Terms of service
- A one-page scan is free and needs no account. The Report (US$300) and Fixed (US$1,500) are one-time purchases.
- For Fixed, you confirm you may give us access to your site; we save every file before we change it and fix anything our change breaks within 30 days.
- Turn on interaction tests only for sites you own or are authorized to test.
- A report is automated output, not legal advice and not a certificate of compliance.
- The service queues at most 20 scans and runs 1 at a time.
- We may change or stop the service.
Who these terms are with
These terms cover your use of the accessibility scanner run by Guido Cattabianchi at this site. By using the scanner, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
These terms take effect on October 2, 2026.
What the service does
You enter a web address. An automated Chromium browser loads it and runs automated checks against WCAG 2.2 (the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2). You get a report with findings and screenshots.
A one-page scan is free. The Report and Fixed are paid; the next section covers them.
The Report and Fixed
The Report costs US$300, paid once through Stripe. It is one scan of up to 10 pages of one site, at desktop and phone width, with interaction tests if you choose them, and a report you can download. We keep the report on our server for 24 hours after the scan starts.
Fixed costs US$1,500, paid once through Stripe. We apply the fixes the scan finds in your site's code or theme for up to 10 page templates of one site, retest them with the same checks at desktop and phone width, and give you a before and after record. Within 1 business day of payment we write to you to agree the templates and how we get access to your site. For more than 10 templates we send a written quote before any extra charge.
If you bought a Report in the 30 days before you buy Fixed, we refund the US$300 when the Fixed work starts.
Prices are in US dollars. Refunds follow the refund policy.
How we work on your site for Fixed
By buying Fixed, you confirm that you own the site or are authorized to let us change its code or theme, and to give us access to it.
Give us the least access the work needs, for example a staff or collaborator account limited to themes. We use it only for the Fixed work, keep it confidential, delete any access details we hold when we deliver, and ask you to remove our access then.
Before we change anything, we save a copy of every file we edit. Where the platform allows it, we work on an unpublished copy of your theme, and nothing goes live until you approve it.
If a change we made breaks something on your site within 30 days of delivery, tell us and we restore the saved files and fix it at no charge.
Pages your platform hosts, such as a Shopify checkout, and third-party apps such as reviews or chat are outside your theme. We test and report them, and fix only what your theme can change.
Once you have paid, the changes we make to your code and theme belong to you.
The work counts as accepted 14 days after we deliver the before and after record, unless you report a problem we caused before then.
What the scanner does on the site you scan
The scanner visits the address as an automated browser. To reach the page, it clicks "yes" or "enter" on age gates and accepts or closes cookie banners.
If you turn on interaction tests, the scanner also opens menus and dialogs, types into search, and adds 1 product to the site's cart, then removes it. It does not place orders.
Use through ChatGPT
The Accessibility Repair plugin for ChatGPT runs the free scan, at desktop width and optionally at phone width, without interaction tests. These terms apply to those scans.
OpenAI's terms govern your use of ChatGPT itself.
Acceptable use
When you use the scanner, you agree to these rules:
- Run interaction tests only on sites you own or are authorized to test. The authorization box must be checked to run them.
- Do not try to scan private, local or loopback networks (addresses inside a home, office or server network, or the scanner's own machine).
- Do not use the scanner to overload a site.
- Do not try to get around the scanner's limits.
Scan limits
The service queues at most 20 scans and runs 1 at a time. It refuses addresses that resolve to private, local or loopback networks.
We may limit or refuse scans to keep the service running.
What a report is and is not
A report is automated output. It is not legal advice. It is not a certificate of compliance with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), WCAG or any other law or standard.
Automated tools cannot test every WCAG success criterion. The site lists the checks a person has to do by hand. We do not guarantee that a report is accurate or complete.
Report links
Anyone who has a report link can view the report until the scan is deleted: 1 hour after creation (24 hours for a paid Report), at a server restart (free scans only), or when you click "Delete this scan". You decide who gets the link.
Changes to the service
We may change the service or stop it. When we change these terms, we post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
Warranty and liability
We provide the service as is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
To the extent the law allows, Guido Cattabianchi is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100, whichever is more.
Governing law and contact
The laws of the State of California govern these terms. Any claim about the service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, except that either party may bring a claim in small claims court.
